Current Code Adoption

The 2010 California Building Standards Code is currently in effect and incorporates the following: 

• The 2010 Edition of the California Building Standards Code, known as the California Code of Regulations, Title-24, Part 2, incorporating the International Building Code, 2009 Edition, including Appendix H, Signs; Appendix I, Patio Covers; Appendix J, Grading, published by the International Code Council, and the non-building and administrative regulations of the International Building Code, 2009 Edition.
• The 2010 Edition of the California Building Standards Code, known as the California Code of Regulations, Title-24, Part 2.5, incorporating the International Residential Code, 2009 Edition, and the non-building and administrative regulations of the International Residential Code, 2009 Edition.  
• The 2010 Edition of the California Building Standards Code, known as the California Code of Regulations, Title-24, Part 6, incorporating the California Energy Code, 2010 Edition, and the non-building and administrative regulations of the California Energy Code, 2010 Edition.  
• The 2010 Edition of the California Building Standards Code, known as the California Code of Regulations, Title-24, Part 8, incorporating the California Historical Building Code, 2010 Edition, and administrative regulations of the California Historical Code, 2010 Edition.
• The 2010 Edition of the California Building Standards Code, known as the California Code of Regulations, Title-24, Part 10, incorporating the California Existing Building Code, 2010 Edition, and administrative regulations of the California Existing Code, 2010 Edition.
• The 2010 Edition of the California Building Standards Code, known as the California Code of Regulations, Title-24, Part 11, incorporating the California Green Building Standard Code, 2010 Edition, and the non-building and administrative regulations of the California Green Building Standard Code, 2010 Edition.  
• The 2010 Edition of the California Building Standards Code, known as the California Code of Regulations, Title-24, Part 12, incorporating the California Reference Standard Code, 2010 Edition, and the non-building and administrative regulations of the California Reference Standard Code, 2010 Edition.  
• The 2010 Edition of the California Building Standards Code, known as the California Code of Regulations, Title-24, Part 1, incorporating the California Administrative Code, 2010 Edition, and the non-building and administrative regulations of the California Administrative Code, 2010 Edition.  
• The 2010 Edition of the California Plumbing Code, known as the California Code of Regulations, Title-24, Part 5, incorporating the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2009 Edition, published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, and administrative regulations of the Uniform Plumbing, 2009 Edition.
• The 2010 Edition of the California Mechanical Code, known as the California Code of Regulations, Title-24, Part 4, incorporating the Uniform Mechanical Code, 2009 Edition, published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, and administrative regulations of the Uniform Mechanical Code, 2009 Edition.
• The 2010 Edition of the California Electrical Code, known as the California Code of Regulations, Title-24, Part 3, incorporating the National Electrical Code 2008 Edition, published by the National Fire Protection Association and the Administrative Regulations insert for the 1996 Edition, national Electrical Code, published by the International Conference of Building.
• The 2010 Edition of the California Fire Code, known as the California Code of Regulations, Title-24, Part 9, incorporating the International Fire Code, 2009 Edition published by the International Code Council. There are local amendments to these codes.
• The 2009 Edition of the International Property Maintenance Code published by the International Code Council, applicable to non-residential occupancies only.
