Creek Week
Preserve our environment for the future by participating in Creek Week activities. The City of Rocklin in conjunction with the Dry Creek Conservancy and South Placer Rotary Club invite the Rocklin community to take part in Tree Planting Projects and Creek Cleanup Projects each year. Each year during Creek Week we celebrate the importance of our urban nature areas with volunteer work and educational events. Volunteer forms are available at www.drycreekconservancy.org.
In 2006 the Tree Planting Project consisted of 35-40 Oak tree seedlings which were planted in Twin Oaks Community Park, located at 5500 Park Drive. Volunteers assisted Rock Creek Elementary students and South Placer Rotary Club members. The Rotary Club provided the soil and planting tubes.
Creek Cleanup Projects were also held in 2006 at Antelope Creek in Johnson-Springview Park, 5480 Fifth Street, and Pleasant Grove Creek, West Oaks Blvd. & Lone Tree Blvd.
Placer County Creek Week is organized by a committee of local schools, businesses and agencies led by Dry Creek Conservancy.
